My Approach

I work primarily from psychodynamic and psychoanalytic perspectives. I see psychotherapy as a process of self-discovery and emotional growth through conversation—one that’s different from everyday dialogue because no topic is off limits. In our work, we might explore relationships, sexuality, dreams, fantasies, anger, anxiety, and the unconscious motivations behind your decisions and patterns.

A key element of my approach is an interpersonal focus—looking closely at how your ways of relating to others affect your life. This includes examining recurring patterns in relationships with romantic partners, friends, family, colleagues, and others. By bringing awareness to these dynamics, we can create space for more authentic and fulfilling connections.

Another central focus of my work is helping clients become more aware of unconscious defenses—the automatic ways we protect ourselves from difficult feelings. While these defenses can be helpful, they sometimes become outdated or counterproductive. Therapy offers a chance to recognize and shift these patterns, creating room for greater emotional flexibility and well-being.
